PR promotion of new hotel brand in the Covid-19 crisis

The first hotel in the “hotel around” series, a new hotel brand targeting women in their late 20s to early 30s, opened in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture. We planned and executed PR communication measures to maximize awareness. In addition to organizing press conferences and receptions, we conducted hands-on press tours to gain exposure not only on the web but also in mass media such as TV and newspapers. We also conducted SNS promotions using influencers with high engagement from the target audience. While the Covid-19 crisis has depressed attention to the tourism and travel industry, we have succeeded in awareness.
Details about our activities
The press conference event was held with all possible precautions against corona infection. The core messages to be conveyed through the project, including the brand concept and the thoughts of the participating partners, will be carefully presented. In addition, by conducting a press tour of the “GOOD LOCAL” area of Takayama City, we appealed to the press not only the hotel but also the surrounding areas. Through multifaceted media exposure, we stimulated travel demand from consumers in the Corona disaster area. In addition to reflecting real experiences from the perspective of guests in the posts, the number of followers on the official account increased significantly through the use of hashtags and campaign announcements at the right time. As a hotel that embodies the “new form of travel” that will be sought after Corona, the campaign contributed to maximizing awareness.
